Thomas Schalke, Secretary General
Thomas Schalke is a senior at Claremont McKenna College majoring in Philosophy, Politics, Economics and International Relations. Born in Ecuador to Dutch parents, he has lived in Mozambique his entire life. In addition to serving as the Secretary General of McKennaMUN, Thomas is also the President Pro-Tempore of the Associated Students of Claremont McKenna College. A lifelong adherent of MUN, this will be Thomas’ second time serving as the Secretary General of McKennaMUN.
Payson Ruhl, Director General
Payson Ruhl is a rising junior majoring in International Relations. She hails from the great state of New Jersey and loves a good bagel/slice of pizza. On campus she is on the Model United Nations travel team, is a member of Claremont Women in Business, and works as a tour guide. In her free time, she can be found relaxing by the fountains, initiating impromptu dance sessions with her roommate on weeknights, and munching on mozzarella sticks at the Hub. She is excited to serve as the Director General of McKennaMUNV this year and cannot wait to meet everyone in April!
Teagan Stewart is a rising senior majoring in IR and Literature, hailing from Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is a leader/student director for Under the Lights Theatre Troupe at CMC and spends her free time singing, songwriting, and letting you know you can find her music on Spotify and iTunes. She enjoys serving as your USG External almost as much as ordering rose chai lattes at the Motley Coffeehouse.
My name is Andrew and I’m originally from Iowa. At CMC, I’m a rising junior majoring in Economics and Computer Science. Outside of MUN, I work at the Lowe Institute for Political Economics, the Financial Economics Institute, and Claremont Consulting Group.
Amiya Narula is a rising junior at CMC majoring in International Relations. Amiya was born and brought up in New Delhi, India but moved away to Costa Rica at sixteen to finish her last two years of high school. At CMC, Amiya has served as an events commissioner for Associated Students of Claremont McKenna College. She also works at the admissions office as an international admissions associate and a tour guide. Amiya will be continuing in her role as USG for General Assemblies at McKennaMUN and she looks forward to working with all of you.
Kate Ridenour is a senior from Naperville, Illinois, majoring in Government. She has been involved with Model UN for 5 years now and currently serves as President of the CMCMUN program. In addition, she works as a research assistant at the Rose Institute of State and Local Government and as Director of Public Outreach for the student-run podcast Free Food For Thought. Kate is thrilled to serve as the USG of Crisis and Specialized Committees for her final year of McKennaMUN.
Austin Gosch, USG Logistics
Austin Gosch is a Junior at Claremont McKenna College majoring in Psychology. He was born and raised in the small town of Greenwood, Arkansas and loves CMC. In addition to serving as USG of Logistics, Austin is the President of the College Programming Board on campus as well as a Residential Assistant. In his free time you can either find Austin in his room playing video games or outside working on his photography.
Ariana is currently a sophomore majoring in International Relations. She is from Denver, Colorado and enjoys speaking French and Arabic, traveling, trying new food, and singing with her a cappella group. Ariana has participated in Model UN in both high school and college, and looks forward to meeting you all at McKennaMUN this this year!
Jerry Li, Co-Director of Outreach
Hailing from the beautiful Canadian west coast, Jerry is currently a senior dual majoring in Government and Economics with a Sequence in Gender and Sexuality Studies. He serves as Vice-President of CMC’s domestic Model UN team as well as co-Head Delegate of CMC’s WorldMUN 2018 team. On campus, Jerry is a Senior Interviewer at the Admissions Office, a Career Consultant at the Soll Center for Student Opportunity, and he also served as Co-President of the Sexuality and Gender Alliance (SAGA).
Isabel Lilles, USG Marketing
Isabel is a senior dual majoring in International Relations and Literature. She was born and raised in Manila, Philippines, and she loves California (she misses the humidity of the tropics, but only a little). In addition to serving as USG Marketing, Isabel is an Athenaeum Fellow; on evenings from Monday to Thursday, she hosts and introduces speakers that come to CMC for evening talks. She is also a certified Zumba instructor, and teaches a PE class twice a week on campus.
