Committee description: The Disarmament and International Security committee is the first committee of the General Assembly of the United Nations. This committee deals with all things that threaten international peace and security with the added focus of reducing armaments through mutual agreements. Committee Description: The Social, Cultural, and Humanitarian Committee (SOCHUM) is the Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly, one of the UN’s six principal organs. This committee primarily concerns itself with matters of human rights, social justice, and humanitarian affairs.

United Nations Development Programme (UNDP)

Committee description: The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) is the United Nations’ global development network. It works in some 170 countries, helping to achieve the eradication of poverty, and the reduction of inequalities and exclusion. In practice, UNDP helps countries develop policies, leadership skills, partnering abilities, institutional capabilities, and build resilience in order to sustain development. In 2017, UNDP is continuing its work to support the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the 17 new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
